Some fish just get noticed among anglers for a number of reasons. Sometimes the reason is that of the quality of the fight they provide for their size at other times it's because of methods the fish fries up beautifully inside the pan. When you're investigating red fish (also sometimes known as red drum or red drum fish), you have a little bit of both - a fantastic fighter that also tastes delicious in the pan or around the grill. spi red fish charters

When we're referring to red fish drum fishing, you're looking at a game fish containing not only its distinctive beautiful red colors, but also some solid dark dots that truly set it apart. These fish are famous for giving a good fight similar to their bass cousins, while also having a delicious flesh which can be grilled or fried for good eating.

In other words, in several ways it is your ideal saltwater shore sport fish. You should use normal casting fishing rods with medium action and medium level test line, so that you don't need a lot of special outfitting to have success on the water.

What Tackle to work with
The best tackle on an area is going to depend upon a lot of different things. If you are talking about red fish drum fishing it's important to understand that on virtually any day there are factors that may change what works, but location also matters. What lures operate in southern Florida will likely be different than what works off the coast of Massachusetts.

Most of the time, there are a few different methods for red fish drum fishing that have a tendency to work wherever you are.

Live bait options are a good way to go. You usually want to make sure that what you are using as live bait is legal in the area you're in but common live bait options include shrimp, small crabs, pinfish, and even cut baits. This can be best set up using the tides so your bait looks natural among other bait fish being brought in.

There are also several artificial lures which may have a reputation for working. These are generally spoons and jigs - and bright has a tendency to work so think precious metal instead of camouflaged colors in case you are going to go with the artificial set up.

Finally, make sure to give yourself a few options before you go out on the water. That knows what might be working on that day, so have your plan b in place before you go out!
